Week 4 Response -- Bentley Hendrix

 The Meaning of Style by Phil Collins was my favorite video from this week. I think the way the video was shot was extremely interesting--the camera was coming from several angles, but with each angle, the person the camera was focused on was entirely in their own world. I think that is so relatable to today's society; everyone walks around in their own reality, often not ever stepping out to experience reality with the people around them. I think the butterflies were a representation of that. I remember as a kid, my sister and I would stand in our yard as still as we could, hoping a butterfly would land on us. Towards the end of the video, all of the subjects had several butterflies resting on their shoulders and faces, but were never acknowledged. I also thought it was interesting how the installation was apart of the video; it looked to be a house setting.
