Week 12_Response_Garrett Joyce

 This week I chose a video installation titled "Megatron/Matrix" and "Electronic Superhighway" by Nam June Paik. The " Megatron/Matrix" installation is made up of hundreds of televisions playing different videos. I liked the TVs would work together to make an image and part of the time they would be playing their video. I think it is interesting how they were able to program the computers to change so fast and still be able to line up with each other at the right time. I have seen this technic use before but Nam was able to make it unique by using TVs. It reminded me of the 90s with bright colors and the style of video they chose. My favorite installation was "Electronic Super Highway" because he made a huge neon sign outline of the United States and placed televisions in each state. Each state has different amounts of TVs and played films that relate to each state in them. I thought the concept was cool and I never saw anything like it. Overall, both installations were interesting and made me want to look into more of his work.
