Week 8_Response_Garrett Joyce

 This week I chose to talk about '111-119 Generalisimo/Castellana' (2012) by Patricia Esquivias. The video starts with a photo of an apartment complex and Patricia talking over it. We learn that she is the artist behind the ceramic decorations on the apartment balconies. I liked the way she went into detail about the building and why she made the decisions she did. The artwork made the building feel like it was customized to the specific area it was in. She talked about how the people living there knew that the art was not just for them but also for the people who drove by. At the end of the video, she shows the before and after pictures of the building. This was my favorite part because we got to see all of the details she changed on the exterior of the building. I also loved how passionate she sounded about her work and wanted to share it with as many people as she could. Overall, this video was a great example of a person who has a great heart and loves what they do.
