Week11_Response_Ulmer

I watched and responded to the video titled “How Sound Artist Creates Intricate Patterns With Noise.” While I thought the sounds were beyond unpleasant, I thought it was a cool visual representation of how sound can actually create visual art and the patterns that it formed. The artist made this possible by pouring couscous onto an instrument called a Chladni Plate, which is just a metal square. The artist then uses a bow against the metal to cause vibrations, much like a violin. The vibrations create the patterns and reveal to us that sounds can create not only just audio art, but visual art as well.
