Week 3 Response Kailey Gaskin

 

    My favorite video this week is Raven Kwok's Rule 110. The video started off simple and as the beat got more intense, so did the frequency and intensity of the movement and colors. I enjoy how the movements did not just go along with the main melody, but also with the background noise as it catches the eye off guard. My favorite part of the video is when the song climaxes, the screen is filled with color, and the code the video is based on looks corrupted. It is also extremely challenging to get a good screenshot of this. The video also fluctuates between the use of geometric and organic shapes in the movement. As the video winds down, the movement and colors come with it eventually ending in a sort of folded-up movement. Like a father finishing reading a newspaper.
