Rachel Rossin's Digital Homes started off with a bird, which originally caught my attention. Although, after watching the other videos, a lot of what she said stuck with me. Throughout the video she seems to convey that her art is sort of a bridge between the digital space and reality. Growing up the digital world seemed to work as an escape for her from whatever chaotic things may have been happening to her or whatever she was going through. In her piece that is showcased, she further bridges this gap by taking paintings she made digitally and printing them on plexiglass. Then she heats them and physically warps them in the corporeal realm. She states the pieces are representative of shields for her. Further backing up the digital is a protector from her harsh reality. Her AR counterpart makes me think she is trying to say if you look through a different lens, there is a different story. Or it could further explain how the digital realm is escapism. I did not see the story that was being told through those ipad so there is no way for me to completely be sure. Overall, I really related to her form of digital being a form of escaping from the real world.
