Rachel Rossin's digital animation projects were fascinating because it was literally bringing art to life. She explained how she makes her art and how she uses sensors to help animate it and uses her own body to give the image life. It was cool to see how these programs imitate actual living things and how far technology has come.
It reminded me of the Xbox Kinect that my friend used to have growing up to play Just Dance over 10 years ago. It used a sensor to monitor the dancing and project it back on to the game on screen. The console was very advanced for the time and it was used for lots of games, but that was the only one I was interested in playing on it. We've also been seeing this kind of technology more and more with things like Memoji and Animoji on newer iPhones.
Technology in art is a huge concept and innovation that will only continue to evolve and become more advanced. This video is somewhat of a foreshadowing of what new technological advances will with see in the future, even in art.
