Brandon Levin Project 3 Progress

Project 3 originally began with a shaky start. I know somehow I wanted to incorporate foley art (the act of creating man made sound to represent the sound of another sound that may not be able to be replicated),  but I wasn't exactly sure what to do.

I began experimenting with different sounds around campus and tried to see if I could make a "morning routine" of some sort using foley, but the sounds were nearly impossible to replicate without actually making the sound.

Then, I realized, why not try using sound and lighting with my piece? I began to test out different variations of my LED lights and studied the patterns and colors to see exactly what sounds I was thinking of when viewing the lights.

I quickly got to work on recording sounds such as lighting a lighter, hitting glasses of water with different water levels, and even playing with my fridge to replicate the exact sounds I wanted.

After everything was in place, I spent hours in the audio mixer tab deciding which sounds I wanted to be louder and which sounds I wanted to be more faint. I also wanted to leave it up to the audience to determine which sound was brought to the forefront in their brains.
