Progress Shots

The Steps:

First I pulled all the clips into the timeline into the order I wanted them, watched them all, and cut out all the outtakes (there were a lot of outtakes). I had actually made a storyboard, but due to the weather conditions when we filmed, it was basically scrapped, but it was the same idea.

Once everything was in order I had to cut out all the reactions I filmed into individual reactions that looked like reactions to each other because I just filmed one continuous shot of different reactions from both of them. That was fun because I was just behind the camera telling them to act out different things.

Then everything was in order and I deleted the original audio and added my own. My friend, John Harper, directed me to a great site to find different sound effects and I downloaded music from YouTube and cut it down to get the best sections. I added audio effects such as fading out or fading in.

After this, I added certain video effects such as the blur in the beginning that looks like it autofocuses on the posters and a cross dissolve where they put in their bets because it wasn't as sharp and did not snap like I wanted it. Other than those transitions I kept it very blunt and edgy because I was not going for a soft feel that the video effects usually give.

For the title, I downloaded a font and put it into photoshop to make my own transparent title that would go over the blurred part. I gave it the fade-in and dissolve to be in sync with the music. With the credits, I just used title cards given to me in the program and edited them to my liking.

Then my video was almost done! I just color corrected it and changed the aspect ratio to make it tidier and I called it done. I put much more after production into this project than the first because I wanted this video to look more professional and less like found footage.
