Week 4 Response Kailey Gaskin

     My favorite video this week was More Mcwreath's Feeding Back (2016). His expressionless face and calm way he eats pizza while watching the chaotic video behind him adds a stark contrast between calm and collected and utter chaos. He seems to be imitating a youtuber's reaction video but without adding anything to the content. The video is seemingly normal until copies of him show up and begin swaying and he joins in and adds his first comment on the content. Although after a moment of reaction, he goes back to calmly watching the video and eating. It feels as if he is trying to signal to the viewer that there is nothing to be worried about. At the end of the video, it kind of breaks the fourth wall by revealing his editing screen and flashing titles of books and articles. These seem to be sources that inspired his work that was just witnessed which is surreal. The best part of the video is the irony between the man eating and the actual feed back. This man reminds me of my boss who is seemingly deadpanned but actually has a great sense of humor.
