Week 7_Response_Allison Myers
For this week I chose to respond to "The Machinist's Lament"
I thought the composition of this work was really interesting. I like how it switched from regular video, watching the performance to a sort of layering that moved and interacted in a way to tell the story. The whole piece kind of went over and showed or said all the things these people need. The showed tools, the read manuals and this showed the relationship of mechanics to imagination or this fantasy.

I'm glad I read your post because I didn't understand this video. I think youre right about the mechanics to imagination. It gave me a weird hunger games vibe with a futuristic art style. I enjoyed the use of art and the human form mixed together.
ReplyDeleteHey Allison, I enjoyed reading your post. I didn't really think of the video in that way–the merging of mechanical natures and imagination. I still don't really enjoy the video–it was kind of weird. But, your post helped me understand it more. :-)
ReplyDeleteHey Allison! I loved your view on this video. It kind of sounded like you viewed it as an instructional video turned to some sort of fantastical film. Thanks for your input! It helped me view the video in a new light!
