Week 7_Response_Eli Legg
This week I chose to talk about Gary Hill's piece "Primarily Speaking" (1981-81). I liked how the two images were presented side-by-side simultaneously playing as the narration went on. When they both started similarly with the moving road shot mirrored, then changed to different scenes as the video progressed, it made me think about how you can have a certain idea or subject and two people can have different memories, associations, and relations with it. The entire composition with the color bars also didn't feel cluttered, but more like a window sill looking into memories of some type.
