This week, I focused on Michael W. Smith's "Love Always Wins".

This music video is simple, with how the message is conveyed visually and sonically. Smith wants to highlight that being kind towards others goes a long way. In a world that brings the negative to light, we sometimes forget about the little things in life. We can forget about the simple pleasures, the shared laughs, and the moments of unity as a people. The video is mainly a montage of short clips of close-ups at his concert, performing this very song. There are also clips of people praying for/with others. While I'm not the biggest fan of the visual effect of the popping up of the lyrics, it still gets the point across. They don't take away from the shots and add context.

The black & white filter makes the video feel monotonous yet harmonious. With the lyrics preaching kindness and the shots of several people coming together, the filter creates a sense of unity amongst these people. Even though there is a diverse set of people in this music video, no one visually sticks out; this may be a way to signify that we are all one unit at our core.
