This week I decided to respond to Gary Hill's Primarily Speaking. This video had two videos going at once in front of a colorful background that looks similar to when a TV is messed up. There was something very eerie about this video and the background music was also very eerie. It's videos like this that really confuse me because I don't understand what they mean. I did think this video was very thought provoking though.
Hi Anna, I enjoyed reading your response! I did a completely different video then yours, but I strangely like your selection a little bit more now. It had a forbidding feel to it but I believe that helped keep the audience interested and want to hear more of what the narrator was saying. When looking it up, it said it was about how the artist is concerned with disclosing and deciphering the codes of human relations. That the desire for a community through language comes very much to the fore, while the constantly changing images attempt to compete. Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteHi Anna! The video was definitely eerie. I think the video was supposed to be motivation but in a weird way. It almost sounded omnious and condescending in the tone of voice but the wrods were encouraging. It was a weird pairing of those things.
