 In Primarily Speaking by Gary Hill, we see two viewing windows in front of a color bar sequence background. The audio includes distorted voices and other sound effects. The narrator speaks many short thoughts, in short sentences. The narration continues to be a rhythmic pattern to help the audience continue with each thought. On the visual side, both of the video frames show different clips, however they are related clips, such as two road signs pointing a similar direction. The creator of this tries to get the audience to see and hear common thoughts and understand them through an alternative way. On a side note, the two frames could be an interesting visual for a type of Virtual Reality display with these with one in each eye focal zone and the color bars removed. If this piece was made later this could have been an interesting display for viewers.
