The video I chose was Primary Speaking by Gary Hill. This video starts with a bright neon screen that looks like what used to be on TV when there was some type of interruption. On top of that is two windows playing videos. The videos mainly show different routes. There is a very creepy, electronic voice talking throughout the video. It starts out singing a muffled sounding song which was also creepy. Both videos end but the narrating continues. The screen becomes stationary on a different background that uses the same bright neon colors, just in a different design that also remind me of when there would be an interruption on TV or breaking news that is about to be announced. This video has an eery vibe to it, almost slightly threatening or condescending.
I also thought that this video was very creepy or at the least disturbing with the continual use of harsh language to the viewer. It felt very personal with an unknown individual, which was very unnerving.
ReplyDeleteThe video is very freaky and strange but also interesting. He was reciting text that would relate to the movements on screen. I agree with the eerie vibe. I understand it a bit more but not completely still.
