Week 10_Response_Maya Pless

This week I am responding to Yasuaki Shimizu's Sound Installation for Robot Garden. My first thoughts were that I was in a science project. The beginning is full of blips and bloops and gives a very space like atmosphere. It is hard to put into words. This matches up with the scrolling images of what look like cells and microorganisms. Then around 1:30 a transition happens. A voice is added to the sound and the installation looks more complex. It matches the music. After another minute and a half, you can see lots of people and the music is upbeat. People are talking, observing, and taking pictures as they walk through. Lastly, there is a transition to a sound that makes you fill like you are in an aquarium? Very nice sounding. The visual is now blue and spirals a bit to match that ocean like sound. You go on many journeys with this piece.
