Week 11_Response_Alex Langmann
I have responded to “The Murder of Crows” this week, an odd sound installation in which many speakers and chairs are set up in a very empty room. Odd filter music plays while a voice plays, sometimes talking about things like pain and murder, sometimes random gibberish, and sometimes singing. The background noise is sometimes actual music, sometimes weird noises, all seeming to play off of the voice. It’s a surreal experience to hear the different sets back to back, and almost seems to strike some sort of fear in me; it’s a strange cacophany of voices that don’t have much (if anything) in common but the set design. Perhaps the title is meamt to mimic the strange quality of the voices and sounds.
