Week 8_ Response_ Alex Langmann

 I have chosen to respond to the trailer for KIDDING. The trailer is mostly a montage of different scenes and pieces of dialogues. The music overlaid on top of the scenes produces a much stronger effect than just the video itself would have; it gives a more somber and airy feeling to it. The scenes themselves are both lighthearted and show a hint of darkness, producing an interesting dichotomy that makes the viewer want to go watch the actual show. The camera seems to do a lot of panning as opposed to more organic shots, but it actually helps give the show a more interesting look. The organic emotion of the characters combined with the sharp, clinical camera movements removes the viewer from the scenes while also immersing us fully in them.
