Jordan Allen Project 3 Progress

Whenever I [plucked the string I wanted to give some more visual elements to the viewers. So every time I plucked the string I made the color change. I played around with different presets and changed the saturation and vibrance up for extreme colors. I wanted to do the same thing with the drumbeats but unfortunately it was too complicated and I couldn't get it to line up to the music properly

Some the audio I imported was too loud at times and made it unpleasant to listen to. I had to change the audio gain down a couple of times so I didn't bust everyone's ear drums. The strings I didn't have to worry about but the drums and music clip I had to turn down a lot

One of the hardest parts was trying to make the music line up with my hands. I was either too fast at times or the music was too slow. It was an easy fix. I had to cut the sound in half a few times and rearrange it to match up to my fingers hitting the string.

After watching the video once I thought it was little boring so I decided to add more visual elements but using a split screen effect. I thought it certainly gets your attention more. I wanted to add flashes of color to the screen too but I felt like it would take away from the sound aspect of the assignment so I decided to just stick with the split screen effect.

Purpose of Content:

Starting out I had no idea what I wanted to do. I had a hard problem with making an "abstract" piece of work. I looked around my room and found some string and just went from there. I tried to show how different music elements can be combined together to create a melody or song. The first part of the video is showing how the vertical string is supposed to be a violin and the horizontal is the drum beat. When the strings are crossed and played at the same time it creates a song even though they are not real instruments. The audience gets to use their imagination and pretend the strings are instruments.
