I watched the opera for Sleeping Beauty. It was a very good performance with the singing and orchestra, however, while some actors were very good others obviously had some problems with the blocking. The entire stage should stay dark as the play goes on, however, the lights kept coming on for actors to move the set or come off the stage. From what I learned that's a no-go, it distracts the audience from the performance and lets them see too much. If practiced properly then you should know the route in the dark. They also moved the set when lights were on making it seem awkward as we, the audience, got to see the entire change of scene from the actors themselves. They should have done it in the dark in between acts so the story would flow better and have minimal time shifts. The actors were watching each other to see if they were doing the right movements and some were not big as the others making it look wrong and disconnected.
