Project 3_Progress_Maya Pless

First thing I did was research. You can see below my notes and me looking online for clear containers to use. When I thought of abstract images, something I could not completely control came to mind. That happened to be how substances moved through water.

After going to the store and getting all my supplies, I started recording my food coloring and water combo. This was difficult for many reasons. Who knew recording water was hard. I had to take into consideration water temp, lighting, how big the drops were, angles so as little of the tank was seem as possible. Wild.

 

So finally I have footage I am happy with so I import everything and first go to brighten and sharpen all the colors. I used an adjustment layer for this because that was the easiest way to assure every clip had the same effects.

Lastly I put all my sounds in and made sure every entrance was just right. Timing and volume was important for each drop.

The piece is named "Chance" because you do not know which color or sound will come next. It is complete chance. Like life :)
