Saxophone Recital_Alex Langmann

 Today I went to Saxophone Recital! I think personally I was most drawn to the performances that really utilized the great range that a Sax has. The instrument has the power to be really deep and loud, or soft and subtle. In performances where the piece was very loud all the way through, I found it almost to hurt my ears, but for performances where there was only soft tones, I strained to hear. In terms of the project we're working on right now, it really puts into perspective for me that striking a balance between loud and soft, deep and subtle, is extremely important in capturing the viewer's attention.
